Code of conduct

Our seven non-negotiable commands

Every member agrees to these before they join a patrol. Break one and you're out.
  1. 01

    100% Non-Confrontational

De-escalation first in every scenario. We are here to provide calming reassurance for residents and shopkeepers, never provocation or hostility.

  2. 02

    Strict "Observe & Report"

Recording objective, factual written logs for Hampshire Police and Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council regarding lighting defects, littering and disorder.

  3. 03

    Always in Disciplined Groups

Operating strictly in coordinated teams of 4 to 8 vetted volunteers with high-vis vests and radios. Maximum safety and mutual accountability.

  4. 04

    Total Sobriety

No alcohol or substances before or during any patrol or gathering. Ever.

  5. 05

    Zero Tolerance for Racism

Everyone in our towns deserves to feel safe. Any racist, abusive or discriminatory conduct means immediate removal.

  6. 06

Respect the Law & the Police

We support, never replace, the police. We never detain, search, film people to shame them or take the law into our own hands.

  7. 07

    Protect Each Other's Privacy

No doxxing, no sharing members' details, no filming members. Strict vetting before anyone joins a patrol.
